Utilizing the power of user research and the quickness of iterative rapid prototyping, new Amazon features are being released into the wild, vastly increasing the delight of customers as well as business metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Create usability study parameters and work with a researcher to implement test plan.
  • Rapid prototyping of concept with iterations aided by user research.
  • Wireframe concepts for internal review and for stakeholder reviews.
  • Work with developers in the execution of the product/feature in an AGILE methodology.
  • Utilize A/B testing methodologies to ensure business objectives and customer satisfaction are met.
Spiceworks

Senior Designer

April 2012 — April 2016

One of five designers that make up the internal marketing creative team. We collaborate with about 30 marketers and make each and every one of their dreams come true. Smiles included.

Responsibilites

  • Using InVision or Illustrator as prototyping tools, lead UI/UX designer for new digital initiatives
  • Using HTML/CSS/JS to create spicy experiences for external marketing campaigns in the Spiceworks Community.
  • Leveraging experience design skills to create interactive booths for marketing events/conferences such as; Interop, VMworld, Marketo Marketing Summit, CeBIT, and Microsoft TechEd.
  • Lead and grow a team of two junior designers.

Lead UI/UX designer, created wireframes, low and high fidelity mockups and work with developer to produce this report.

Associate Director of Visual Design

One-half of a two person team. We served the interests of the President and the Board of Directors on all things web-related for the seminary.

Responsibilites

  • Pioneered the first foray of digital advertising for the seminary. Exploring what the seminary's branding strategy looked like through banner ads displayed across multiple networks.
  • Began the first study into how to best modernize the seminary's brand across all mediums (print and web).

Notable Projects

Website Redesign

Every 3rd year, the seminary redesigns all 1,000+ pages that make up the externally focused website.

Campaign Firsts

Created digital media campaigns to announce the new Masters in Christian Leadership and also to promote the flagship degree – Masters of Theology.
